Corporate Social Responsibility

As a company, we are aware of our societal surroundings, and we want to take our responsibility for them. Because of that, we always try to incorporate a ‘Corporate Social Responsibility’-activity in our quotations. For example, we might visit local NGOs where we observe the aid workers, or get our own hands dirty. This helps us to give something back to local organisations, and to create a unique connection with the destination.

Upgraded supports Foodstep Uganda

Near the Ugandan capital, Kampala, there is a prison where around 400 children between the ages of 3 and 18 are held. Most of them end up there after being arrested as street urchins. They are forced to survive in appalling conditions.

Flemish Nathalie & Werner, and Dutch Mariska made it their mission to take children out of the prison and put them in their own shelter: the Foodstep Home. Besides that, they do everything they can to improve the living conditions in the children’s prison and to provide all the kids with a great future.

Upgraded has visited the non-profit project, Foodstep Uganda, and have had a first-hand look at what the project has been able to achieve already. The impact of the sponsors of this project is undeniable. Upgrade is happy to contribute to help the organisers with the further expansion of a warm home.
